Dial 2-1-1 for information on Energy Assistance Programs available in Virginia. 2-1-1 is an easy to remember phone number connecting people with free information on available community services. When you dial 2-1-1, a trained professional listens to your situation and suggests sources of help using one of the largest databases of community services in Virginia.

You can also see details on available energy assistance programs on the Virginia Department of Social Services Website. There are four parts to Virginia Energy Assistance:

1. Fuel Assistance - helps eligible households with the costs of heating their homes.

2. Crisis Assistance - helps households in heating emergency situations with primary heat security deposits, utility heating bills, repair/replacement of heating equipment, primary heating fuel or emergency shelter.

3. Cooling Assistance - helps with cooling equipment purchases or repairs and also with the electric bill.

4. Weatherization Assistance - helps with energy efficiency and air infiltration.
