Water heater rebates are available on qualifying equipment purchased on or before December 31, 2015.
Water heating is typically the second largest energy expense in your home, after heating and cooling. Electric water heater costs account for as much as 33% of the average utility bill. The energy factor (EF) indicates a water heater's overall energy efficiency based on the amount of hot water produced per unit of fuel consumed over a typical day. Danville Utilities Home$ave is offering rebates to help our customers go with a more energy efficient option when shopping for a new water heater so you can save money on your hot water.
With Danville Utilities Home$ave, residential electric customers are eligible for a $25 mail-in rebate for each new qualifying high-efficiency electric water heater purchased that has an EF at 0.93 or better.
Water heaters that replace an existing unit as well as new construction units are eligible for a rebate through a post-purchase application process. Equipment should be purchased on or after July 15, 2011. Home$ave rebate applications are valid for 90 days after product purchase. After 90 days, the equipment is no longer eligible for rebates from Danville Utilities.
Equipment Eligibility & Rebate Level
Rebates are available for High-Efficiency (HE) Electric Water Heaters between 40 to 80 gallons and an EF greater than or equal to 0.93. The rebate for qualifying HE Electric Water Heaters is $25 per unit.
