The River District Rhythms at the Market concert series continues on Saturday, June 1, with The Groove Train, a Virginia band that performs a blend of music from the days of disco, funk and Motown.
In addition, the band is known for its groovy costumes, outrageous hairstyles and showmanship.
The concert will be held in the Community Market parking lot. Gates open at 6 p.m. Admission is $5 per person. Children of age 12 and under are admitted free if accompanied by a paying adult.
The concert is presented by Danville Harvest Jubilee, which this year created River District Rhythms at the Market in response to a survey. The new concert series had its debut on Saturday, May 4.
River District Rhythms replaces Fridays At the Crossings.
The other dates for River District Rhythms at the Market are Aug. 3 and Sept. 14.
