Motorists in Danville may encounter detours at 11 railroad crossings due to maintenance by Norfolk Southern. Weather permitting, the repairs will take place from Tuesday, June 11, through Friday, June 14.
The crossings scheduled for maintenance are as follows:
• Clearview Drive at West Main Street,
• Hunter Street at West Main Street,
• Edgewood Drive South at West Main Street,
• Edgewood Drive North at West Main Street,
• Stokesland Avenue at West Main Street,
• Wooding Avenue,
• Holbrook Avenue,
• Jefferson Street,
• Monument Street,
• Lynn Street,
• Halifax Road.
The city of Danville Public Works Department urges drivers to use extreme caution when approaching an area of construction and to be aware of workers in the work zone.
