City Council this week honored Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Sue Davis, presenting her with a certificate of recognition for her dedication, service and leadership to the community.
Davis has been a professional educator for 38 years with Danville Public Schools, serving as a teacher, principal and administrator.
Council noted her tireless efforts toward the helping students achieve academic success and develop a love of learning in and out of the classroom.
“Dr. Sue Davis was an advocate for students, educators, the school system and the community, and through exemplary service and leadership, she provided guidance for a changing school system,” Mayor Sherman Saunders said.
Davis is retiring as school superintendent as of June 30.
