September is National Preparedness Month (NPM) and our Department of Emergency Services urges you to prepare for emergencies in your homes, businesses and community.
In addition to the information on our website, FEMA’s website at www.fema.gov/plan/index.shtm has many suggestions for residents, business owners and community leaders to help them to be ready in the event of severe weather or emergencies.
NPM’s Web sites (www.ready.gov and www.listo.gov) and toll-free numbers (1-800-BE-READY, TTY 1-800-462-7585 and 1-888-SE-LISTO) provide Americans with free emergency preparedness information.
