Danville Utilities has scheduled electric outages at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, and Thursday, Aug. 21, that will affect customers in sections of Main, Market, Union and Spring streets. The outages will allow for the installation of new conductors and connection changes for the downtown vault upgrade project.
Customers on Main and Union streets will be without power for about three hours on both days. Customers served by the Market Street vault will be without power briefly at the beginning and end of the construction activity on both days.
Customers affected by the outages will receive prior notice.
Motorists are urged to slow down and be alert to altered traffic patterns or consider an alternate route.
