[ARCHIVED] House Fire at 349 Cedarbrook Drive

The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 349 Cedarbrook Drive at 1:54am this morning. Crews arrived on scene at 1:59am and found heavy smoke and fire coming from the front window of a one story residential house. Engine 4's crew from West Main Street fire station performed defensive operations by pulling an attack line and knocking down the fire from the outside of the house. Once additional resources were on scene, Engine 4's crew entered the structure to attack the fire. Ladder 1's crew from Lynn Street Fire Station entered the structure and performed a primary search for victims, with none found . Engine 3's crew from Industrial Avenue Fire Station pulled a back up line and Engine 6's crew from Westover Drive Fire Station set up a Rapid Intervention Crew. Engine 2's officer from Piney Forest Fire Station was assigned as a safety officer and his crew assisted the Ladder Company. The fire was extinguished and overhaul of the structure was done. The house sustained heavy smoke and fire damage.

The Danville Fire Department responded with 4 engines, a ladder truck, a command unit, a chief officer and one fire marshal. The Danville Life Saving Crew, Danville Police Department, Danville Electric Department and Danville Water and Gas Department assisted on scene.
Nineteen fire personnel were on the scene for two hours and 14 minutes. The fire marshal investigated and determined that the fire was arson. No injuries were reported.
