The stop pattern at the intersection of Lynn and Loyal streets will change to improve the response time for fire trucks from the Lynn Street station to Patton and Main streets. The change will allow traffic on Lynn Street to gain the right of way when approaching the intersection, while traffic on Loyal Street must come to a stop.
To provide time for motorists to adjust, the intersection will become a temporary four-way stop beginning Monday, June 1. New signage will be installed. The four-way stop pattern will remain in place for two weeks.
On Monday, June 15, the permanent right-of-way swap will be made, with the removal of the stop sign on Lynn Street at the intersection.
