The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 786 Paxton Street at 8:23 pm. Upon arrival crews found smoke pushing from windows on the left side of the structure and fire visible inside the structure. Crews quickly verified that all occupants were out of the structure and then directed their attention to extinguishment of the fire. Crews made entry with attack lines into the structure and extinguished the fire. Fire damage was contained to the kitchen with smoke damage throughout the house. Occupants included a mother and six children who were displaced. The Red Cross provided for shelter. The cause of the fire was a pot left on the stove unattended. Resources included three engines a ladder truck a chief officer and a safety officer. The Danville Life Saving crew was there for medical support as well as the Danville Police Department for police support.
