In conjunction with the River District Festival, the Danville Transit System will provide trolley service that will be free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17. The trolley will stop at the YMCA main entrance and at the intersections of Colquhoun and Bridge streets and Wilson and Bridge streets.
The festival is in its fifth year and will feature activities and events on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 15-17. This year, the festival has expanded beyond Main Street to include Spring, Union and Bridge streets and the new YMCA on Riverside Drive.
The festival’s purpose is to make citizens aware of the transformation of the district, which includes downtown and tobacco warehouse district.
