The Danville Fire Department was dispatched to 735 Grove Street for a house fire at 12:10 am on 1/19/16. Apparatus arrived four minutes later and found a small, one story house with heavy fire on the back side of the house. After establishing everyone was out of the house, personnel entered to extinguish the fire. Most of the fire was in the attic. Personnel had to work through two ceilings to get to the fire. The fire was under control in 21 minutes. The fire was contained to the attic and the rear exterior wall. The homeowner advised someone was beating on the door to let them know their house was on fire. Two adults and three children escaped unharmed. Family will be taking care of them at this time. Clothes, furniture, and other items will still be usable.The DFD responded with three engines, one ladder, and two support vehicles. 19 personnel responded to the call. The DFD also received support from the Danville Police Dept., Danville Life Saving Crew, and Danville Utilities. All apparatus remained on scene for two hours. Brian K. AldersonBattalion Chief
