Danville, VA Police Department Media Releases

[ARCHIVED] 07-30-11 ROBBERY

On 07-29-11 at approximately 8:45pm, officers responded to the 600 block of Franklin Street in reference to a armed robbery call. The victim reports that he was standing in front of a residence on Franklin Street when a black 4 door Honda stopped and three Black males exited the vehicle. One of the suspects was carrying an AK-47 style rifle with a laser and scope attached. He is described as about 5’9” tall wearing a plaid button up short sleeve shirt, black shorts and black shoes. The other two suspects are described as being short and one of these two was carrying an ice pick. The suspect with the rifle stuck the barrel of the rifle to the victim’s back and demanded his wallet. After robbing the victim of the wallet, which contained cash a bank card and his operator’s license, the suspects returned to the Honda and drove off, headed East on Franklin Street. No shots were fired and no none was injured.
