[ARCHIVED] River Street (Route 58) Restricted Lane Notice

Weather and conditions permitting, beginning Sunday evening, May 16, east bound traffic on River Street from Bryant Avenue to
Old Halifax Road will be restricted to one lane to facilitate the demolition of the concrete pier of the Norfolk Southern Railway Bridge Over River Street. This lane restriction will continue from 8:00pm. Sunday evening until 6:00am on Monday morning, May 17.

To ensure the safety of motorists and the work crews during the demolition process, on Sunday night, May 16, at 8:00pm the lane will be restricted to one useable lane with short periods of stopped traffic to allow equipment to work. During this period, motorists should expect delays.

This work is being performed by M.R. Dishman & Sons, Inc. of Danville, VA and is a continuing project until finished.

We regret the inconvenience that this interuption will create and request the public’s patience and cooperation during this time of demolition.
