Shortly before 8:30 pm this evening, Norfolk Southern Railway reported that one of their trains struck a man on the tracks somewhere in the area of Wooding Avenue and Baltimore Avenue. Danville Police were notified and assisted in searching the area.
A man was located near the railroad tracks behind the former Ballou Park Theatre on Tunstall Road. The Danville Fire Department and Danville Life Saving Crew responded and began treatment. The man was transported to Danville Regional Medical Center and is currently listed in critical condition.
The investigation is continuing.
