Danville Police responded to a call of a man struck by a train on the tracks somewhere in the area of Wooding Avenue and Baltimore Avenue last night.
Shortly before 10:00 PM last night, Norfolk Southern Railway reported that one of their trains struck a man on the tracks somewhere in the area of Wooding Avenue and Baltimore Avenue. Danville Police were notified and assisted in searching the area.
A man was located near the railroad tracks behind the former Ballou Park Theatre on Tunstall Road. The Danville Fire Department and Danville Life Saving Crew responded and began treatment. The man was transported to the Danville Regional Medical Center for non life-threatening injuries.
After further investigation, Danville Police charged Michael Anthony Adkins age 39 of Danville with trespassing on railroad property and drunk in public. Michael is currently being medically evaluated at the Danville Regional Medical Center.
