The scheduled closure this week of the right-turn lane of Franklin Turnpike to Piney Forest Road has been delayed. Weather permitting, the closure now will begin on Monday, Aug. 20.
The closure will allow for water and gas service connections to be installed for Walgreens pharmacy. The lane will be blocked until the work is complete.
Traffic must pass around the blocked lane, but will be able to make the right turn from Franklin Turnpike onto Piney Forest Road.
The lane will be open for use at night and weekends.
The work will be performed by a subcontractor for the water and gas division of Danville Utilities.
