1. Why is there a convenience fee?

Paymentus Corporation charges a convenience fee to use their service. This fee covers payment handling and processing charges.

2. How much is the convenience fee?

For utility bill payments, Paymentus charges $4.75 for each transaction per $500.00 increment. For both real estate and personal property tax payments, Paymentus charges a convenience fee of 2.75% of the total payment amount. In each case, the convenience fee is automatically calculated.

3. Does the City receive the money from the convenience fee?

The City of Danville does not receive any portion of the convenience fee. Paymentus Corporation is an independent company providing a service for the City of Danville.

4. How long will it take for my payment to post?

Payments typically take 2 business days to post to your bill’s account. For each payment, you will receive a confirmation number directly.

5. I received a utility disconnection notice, am I able to pay online?

If paying after receiving a utility disconnection notice, you must contact the City of Danville’s Central Collection Division with your Paymentus payment confirmation number immediately. Additional reconnect charges may apply.
