National Night Out
Danville's Night Out 2010
McGruff Visits Residents at New Ingram Heights During National Night Out

Danville's Night Out, in participation with National Night Out, invite you to participate in this year's Night Out Against Crime!

In celebration of this year’s event, the Danville Police Department is encouraging all our registered Neighborhood Watch Organizations to host their own event in their own neighborhoods.

In conjunction with National Night Out we recently embarked on our “Get To Know Your Neighbor” campaign and are excited to culminate this campaign on August 3, 2010. The Danville Police Department along with other city departments and organizations will be conducting Community Drop in Visits in the hopes of spending quality time in the communities where Neighborhood Watch is alive and well. The role of Danville’s Night Out has changed format and it is our sincere hope that the changes reflect the underlying need to strengthen our existing Neighborhood Watch Programs and educate citizens on the importance of becoming an informed, pro-active member of their community.  By spending time in the neighborhoods on August 3, 2010, we hope to provide a face-to-face encounter with the citizens we serve, and bolster community relations in a way like never before.

This year’s event will consist of participation from the following:
  • Danville Police Department
  • Danville Sheriff's Department
  • Danville Fire Department
  • Danville Emergency Services Department
  • Danville Community Development Department
  • Danville Utilities
  • River City TV
  • Regional Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention (RASAP)
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Danville Public Works Department
  • Institute for Advanced Research and Learning
  • Little Life Pregnancy Crisis Center
  • Others as available

We look forward to visiting you in a neighborhood nearby, so mark your calendar and save the date for August 3, 2010 (4pm-8pm) and help us celebrate National Night Out!
