Southside Regional Juvenile Group Home Commission
Members
The Commission presently includes the political subdivisions of
Halifax County, Mecklenburg County, the
Town of South Boston,
Franklin County,
Pittsylvania County, and the City of Danville, each represented by one member selected from each political subdivision. The Commission is a public body corporation with powers as set forth in Sections 16.1-318-322 of the
Code of Virginia.
The City shall be represented by one member selected from the City and appointed, after consultation with the Chief Judge of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, by the Council to serve a term not to exceed two years. Functions
The function of the Southside Regional Juvenile Group Home Commission is to provide a complete program of services to all juveniles accepted for placement at the Facility, including:
- Room and board
- Counseling
- Education

- Socialization
- Nutrition
- Emergency medical and dental care

- Psychological services
- Supervision and behavioral management
- Physical and recreational activities
