Responsibilities
The Sheriff's Office is responsible for the City Jail, court services, and process-serving in the City of Danville, Virginia.

Employees
The City Sheriff is Michael S. Mondul, an elected Constitutional Officer. The Office currently has 81 employees and serves approximately 44,660 citizens. We take great pride in our beautiful city.

We, the professional men and women of the Danville City Sheriff’s Office are committed to defend the Constitution of the United States and the Commonwealth of Virginia.

We will work diligently in partnership with our community to provide the most effective and safe delivery of services.

We will provide these services with integrity, fairness, caring and teamwork.

We will work closely with city officials and other law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe courthouse, jail and civil service office for our city.
