Board_Commission: Danville Tourism Board
Term: Three Years
Composition:
The Tourism Board shall consist of nine (9) members, eight (8) of whom shall be appointed by City Council, plus an “at-large” member appointed by the other eight members of the Tourism Board. Of the eight (8) members appointed by City Council, two (2) shall be Restaurant representatives; two (2) shall be Hotel representatives; one (1) shall be a Chamber representative; one (1) shall be a Council representative; one (1) shall be a Museum representative; one (1) shall be an Historical representative. The one (1) “at-large” representative shall be appointed by the other eight representatives and must be a resident of the City of Danville.
Functions:
The Tourism Board shall act as an advisory board to the
Director of Parks and Recreation and the Division Director for
Tourism on the issues of promoting and marketing Danville’s
tourism industry. The Board should coordinate its
recommendations with the Director of Parks and Recreation or
in his absence the City’s Director of the Division of Tourism.
