Library card holders gain free access to the library’s in-house collection that includes books, audio books, and DVDs, as well as, a robust online collection that includes multiple streaming services, e-books, movies, audio books, learning databases, and more.
Cards are free to all residents living within 50 miles of Danville Public Library (both Virginia and North Carolina addresses). Applicants must have a state- or federally-issued ID with a current physical address. Proof of address, such as a phone or utility bill, is only required in the event the ID does not show the correct address.
There is no minimum age requirement. Children under 18 must have a parent or guardian present. Children accounts will be linked to the account of the signing parent or guardian.
Library cards are valid for two years and must be renewed in person with valid ID.
