Functions
The functions of the Danville Redevelopment and Housing Authority include:
- Acquiring, leasing, and operating housing projects
- Providing for the construction, reconstruction, improvement, alteration, or repair of any housing project or any part thereof
- Constructing, remodeling, or renovating any public building or other facility used for public purposes provided requested to do so by the governing body
- Arranging or contracting for the furnishings of services, works, or facilities for or in connection with a housing project or occupants thereof
- Investing funds held in reserves
- Investigating into living, dwelling, and housing conditions and into the means and methods of improving such conditions
- Making loans and grants for the prevention and elimination of slums
- Investigating and reporting to appropriate agencies of any building or property where conditions exist which are dangerous to the public health, morals, safety, or welfare
