Danville, VA Police Department Media Releases

[ARCHIVED] 09-28-10 TRAFFIC FATALITY

At approximately 4:15 am this morning Danville Police and emergency personnel responded to South Boston Road near the intersection of River Point Road for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. The preliminary investigation revealed that a female walked north across the eastbound lanes of South Boston Road in the path of a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado and was struck. She was transported by the Danville Life Saving Crew to Danville Regional Medical Center and was pronounced non-viable at approximately 5:00 am. The woman was identified as Linda May Moore, age 54 of Chatham, VA. The Piedmont Regional Crash Investigative Team responded, and the investigation is ongoing.
